RAM Defragmentation

RAM Defragmentation

You probably knew that after using your Computer for some time, the files on the hard disk will get fragMented and your Computer becomes slower. The same thing can apply to the RAM memory. This happens a lot Faster, because it is very frequently accessed, written to and read from.

When software stores information in the RAM, it is assigned a place on the memory. These adDresses are stored in the index table. However, when program try to assign large blocks of RAM, there could be not enough space on the memory. If that happens two smaller blocks of RAM are assigned and their adDresses are stored separately. This is what we call fragMented. Every piece of data that needs to be stored temporarily is stored in the> RAM. This is also the case when files on the hard drive are accessed or games are played.

To make the RAM accessible again, you will need to run software that periodically checks the memory. If it becomes too fragMented, it must reassign adDresses in such a way that two blocks, assigned by one program, are placed next to each other.

This is very important, because a fragMented RAM slows down your enTire Computer. When files are accessed or documents are opened, the RAM is always used. By defragmenting your RAM, your enTire computer will witness a very decent increase of speed.
